The majority of our tours are designed for first-time visitors with the purpose of giving an excellent overall experience of the DPRK. If you have any specific interests such as education, architecture, food or even fishing that you would like to be the focus of your tour then we recommend you get in touch with our independent tours team and we can tailor something to suit your needs.
Regardless of which tour you take, we give all tourists a pre-tour briefing to ensure you are fully prepared for - and will get the most out of - this unique trip. We therefore require all tourists to arrive in Beijing THE DAY BEFORE DEPARTURE to attend a 4PM briefing. Unless otherwise stated, there is no minimum/maximum capacity for our tours to run. If we get more than around 20 applications for one tour we will simply split this into 2 groups and run as 2 separate tours. Provided you apply before the tour deadline you can guaranteed of getting on but early booking is always recommended anyway! A typical tour normally consists of 8 to 18 travelers.

July 27th 1953 was the day the Korean War armistice was signed. So this year marks the 60th anniversary since the end of the conflict (that of course has never really ended). This occasion is celebrated in North Korea as ‘Victory Day’ and is an annual major holiday. Be in both Kaesong and Pyongyang; the two most significant cities in the country, on this day to see how people spend their leisure time. Mix with picnicking locals and attend an expected spectacular Mass Dance and whatever other events are planned to mark this very significant holiday. Also visiting the highlights of the capital and the DMZ, this is a perfect tour to introduce the DPRK to the curious, especially those wanting to be in the country on a major occasion – big things can be expected this year, be there to find out what!
Highlights
Please Note: Due to the high profile of this holiday we have been advised by our partners that there is a chance that some groups may have to be accommodated outside Pyongyang for the immediate days around 27th July and we are not sure if single room accommodation will be available. However, we and our partners will do our utmost to make it possible. As in the past, no tour groups are allowed to attend parades etc however for the 100th Birthday of Kim Il Sung in 2012 Koryo Tours did manage to attend the parade roadside which was an incredible experience. Anything can happen so we ask you all to be flexible, our Koryo Tours guides are very experienced and will do their very best to make it the most memorable trip for you.
