AM: Bus from office to airport.
PM: Flight JS252 from Beijing to Pyongyang, 14:00 departure, arrive Pyongyang, meet your Korean guides who will accompany you during your stay. En route to the hotel stop off at Mansudae Grand Monument - statue of DPRK President Kim Il Sung. Check in hotel MASS GAMES
OVERNIGHT: Yanggakdo Hotel, Pyongyang
Fri 13th Aug
AM: Drive to
Kaesong (2.5 hrs) - a historical city near the DMZ which avoided being destroyed in the Korean War, visit the
Panmunjom/DMZ - boundary between North and South Korea,
Koryo Museum - preserved Confucian museum in the old part of town
PM: Tomb of King Kongmin - beautiful twin-domed tomb of the 31st King of the Koryo dynasty and his Mongolian wife, Concrete Wall - anti-tank barrier erected on the southern boundary of the DMZ, visit a local park before checking into the Folk Hotel where guests sleep on the floor in the traditional Korean style.
OVERNIGHT: Folk Hotel, Kaesong

AM: return to Pyongyang (2.5 hrs),
Korean Film Studios - where all the revolutionary and historical epics shown on DPRK TV and in cinemas are made, visit mock-up sets of various countries and periods,
Mangyongdae Native House - birthplace of the DPRK founder Kim Il Sung,
Pyongyang Metro - the deepest in the world, take a ride with the locals
PM: 3 Revolutions Exhibition - exhibition exemplifying the country's Ideological, Cultural, and Technical achievements, Foreign Languages bookstore and Stamp Shop, Golden Lane Bowling Centre - where Pyongyangers go for their ten-pin fix, also has some early 90s arcade games, local bar
OVERNIGHT: Yanggakdo Hotel, Pyongyang

AM: DPRK Holiday – Liberation Day: Kumsusan Memorial Palace - Mausoleum where President Kim Il Sung lies in state,
Revolutionary Martyrs’ Cemetery - bronze busts of the Koreans who died fighting the Japanese occupation, lunch on a boat as it sails down the Taedong River
PM: Moranbong Park to mingle with the locals on their day off, Pyongyang Funfair, expected evening Mass Dance in Kim Il Sung Square
OVERNIGHT: Yanggakdo Hotel, Pyongyang
Mon 16th Aug
AM: Grand People’s Study House - enormous library/public university building modelled in traditional Korean style over looking Kim Il Sung Square,
Korean Central Art Gallery - the Louvre of Pyongyang with historical works as well as revolutionary art,
Juche Tower - 150m stone tower with lookout platform at the top and great panoramic views of the city,
Monument to Party Foundation - commemorates 50 years of Workers’ Party rule
PM: Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum (Korean War Museum) - hear and see the DPRK version of the conflict,
USS Pueblo - tour the American espionage ship captured in 1968,
Kim Il Sung Square - Pyongyang’s largest square in the heart of the city, features portraits of President Kim Il Sung as well as Marx and Lenin, stamp shop and book shop, flight CA122 from Pyongyang to Beijing, 17:20 departure, 18:05 arrival. End of tour

PRE-TOUR MEETING: Wednesday 11th August, 4PM, at our office in Beijing
EXPECTED WEATHER: It will be very warm at this time with possible rain showers, around 25°C during the day. Raincoat/umbrella advised!

NOT INCLUDED IN THE TOUR FEE:
- single room supplement of EUR 40 per night
- spending money for drinks and souvenirs

- tip for the guides (approx EUR 20-25 total)
- entry tickets for Mass Games and special events if applicable – for example Revolutionary Opera if being staged, or a visit to the funfair
- the lift up the Juche Tower EUR 5
