Sat Oct 6th

 

AM: Bus from office to the airport
PM: 13:00 Flight JS152 Beijing – Pyongyang, arrival in Pyongyang, Meet guides, Arch of Triumph similar to the French version (but bigger), Fountain Park, Mansudae Grand Monument statue of DPRK President Kim Il Sung
Overnight: Yanggakdo Hotel, Pyongyang

 

 

Sun Oct 7th

 

AM: Kumsusan Memorial Palace - Mausoleum where President
Kim Il Sung lies in state, Revolutionary Martyrs’ Cemetery - bronze busts of the Koreans who died fighting the Japanese occupation, Foreign Language Bookshop - read up on what you are seeing here and buy your gifts and night time reading, Kim Il Sung Square - Pyongyang’s largest square in the heart of the city
PM: Mangyongdae Native House - birthplace of the DPRK founder
Kim Il Sung, Mansudae Art Studio - Pyongyang’s centre of artistic excellence, Pyongyang Metro (extended ride) - the deepest in the world, take a ride with the locals, Museum of Metro Construction - shows the efforts of the builders of the Pyongyang Metro under the guidance of President Kim Il Sung, Local funfair
Overnight: Yanggakdo Hotel, Pyongyang

 

 

Mon Oct 8th

 

AM: Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum (Korean War Museum) - hear and see the DPRK version of the conflict,
War Victory Monuments - sculptures of notable events from the war, USS Pueblo - tour the American espionage ship captured in the 1968, Juche Tower - 150m stone tower with lookout platform at the top and great panoramic views of the city
PM: Drive to Mt. Myohyang, brief hike in the mountains, Buddhist Temple
Overnight: Chongchon Hotel, Mt. Myohyang

 

 

Tues Oct 9th

 

AM: International Friendship Exhibition - A series of enormous subterranean exhibition rooms housing gifts given to the DPRK’s leaders by foreign political figures, notable figures, politicians and organisations, return to Pyongyang (2 hours)
PM: Grand People’s Study House - large public library/study centre in the middle of Pyongyang, Pyongyang Film Studio - tour the sets where some of the DPRK's best feature films are made, Schoolchildren’s Palace tour and performance, drive to Kaesong
Overnight: Minsok Hotel, Kaesong

 

 

Wed Oct 10th
AM: DPRK HOLIDAY: Party Foundation Day – Panmunjom/DMZ boundary between North and South Korea, Koryo museum -
preserved Confucian museum in the old part of town
PM: Return to Pyongyang, Party Founding Museum, Monument to Party Foundation commemorates the 50 years of Workers' Party
rule, Moranbong Park - where the people of Pyongyang go to enjoy their holiday, Golden Lane Bowling Centre - where Pyongyangers go for their ten-pin fix, also has some early 90s arcade games,
Expected Mass Dance on Kim Il Sung Square
Overnight: Yanggakdo Hotel, Pyongyang

 

 

Thurs Oct 11th

 

AM: 10:10 Train departs from Pyongyang for China
PM: Cross border at Sinuiju/Dandong, those visiting Dandong alight here, train continues to Beijing
Overnight: On train

 

 

Fri Oct 12th

 

AM: 08:34 Arrival at Beijing Central Railway Station. End of Tour

PRE-TOUR MEETING: October 5th (Friday), 4PM, at our office in Beijing

TOUR FEE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:

1. Flight Beijing-Pyongyang, train Pyongyang-Beijing
2. All meals on the tour except on the train out of DPRK – see below
3. Hotel accommodation
4. All entry fees
5. Two guides and a driver per group
6. All transportation in DPRK
   
   

NOT INCLUDED IN THE TOUR FEE:

1. Optional single room supplement of EUR 40 per night
2. Spending money for drinks and souvenirs
3. DPRK visa fee EUR 50
4. EUR 50 surcharge for the train to Beijing or EUR 50 surcharge for the plane to Beijing (or Air China surcharge EUR 120)
5. Tip for the guides (approx EUR 20-25 total)
6. Meals on the train out of DPRK - (bring your own food or eat dinner and lunch in the buffet car approximately EUR 5 per person)
7. Entry tickets for Mass Games and special events if applicable – for example Revolutionary Opera if being staged, or a visit to the funfair
8. The lift up the Juche Tower EUR 5
9. Meals will have a complimentary beer but you will have to pay for extra drinks above those provided. If you are vegetarian or have special dietary requirements then please inform us beforehand
