AM: Bus from office to Airport
PM: Flight JS152 Beijing – Pyongyang, 13:00 departure from PEK Beijing International Airport (Terminal 2). Arrival to Pyongyang 16:25. Meet guides who will accompany you during your stay, Arch of Triumph – similar to the French version (but bigger), Arirang MASS GAMES
OVERNIGHT: Yanggakdo Hotel, Pyongyang

 

 

Sun 12th Aug

 

AM: Kumsusan Memorial Palace - Mausoleum where President Kim Il Sung lies in state, Revolutionary Martyrs’ Cemetery - bronze busts

of the Koreans who died fighting the Japanese occupation,, Foreign Language Bookshop, Read up on what you are seeing here and buy your gifts and night time reading, Kim Il Sung Square - Pyongyang’s largest square in the heart of the city
PM: Moranbong Park - where the people of Pyongyang go to enjoy their holiday, Local funfair, Fountain Park, Mansudae Grand Monument statue of DPRK President Kim Il Sung, Golden Lane Bowling Centre  - where Pyongyangers go for their ten-pin fix, also has some early 90s arcade games Drive to Mt. Myohyang

Mon 13th Aug

 

AM: International Friendship Exhibition - A series of enormous subterranean exhibition rooms housing gifts given to the DPRK’s leaders by foreign political figures, notable figures, politicians and organisations, Pohyon Buddhist Temple Historical holy temple that originates from 1042.
PM: Return to Pyongyang.Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum(Korean War Museum) - hear and see the DPRK version of the conflict, War Victory Monuments - sculptures of notable events from the war.
OVERNIGHT: Yanggakdo Hotel, Pyongyang

 

 

Tue 14th Aug

 

AM: Drive to Kaesong (2.5 hours) - A historical city near the DMZ

which avoided being destroyed in the Korean War, Panmunjom/DMZ boundary between North and South Korea, Koryo Museum - preserved Confucian museum in the old part of town
PM: Tomb of King Kongmin - Beautiful twin-domed tomb of the 31st King of the Koryo Dynasty and his Mongolian wife, local park and pavilion, return to Pyongyang. Walk in the city along the Taedong river, ancient city gates, Paradise Micro Brewery and Bar.
OVERNIGHT: Yanggakdo Hotel, Pyongyang

 

 

Wed 15th Aug

 

AM: DPRK HOLIDAY: Liberation Day - Pyongyang Metro (extended ride) - the deepest in the world, take a ride with the locals.

USS Pueblo - tour the American espionage ship captured in the 1968, Juche Tower - 150m stone tower with lookout platform at the top and great panoramic views of the city.
PM: Mangyongdae Funfair, Schoolchildren’s Palace tour and

performance, expected Mass Dance on Kim Il Sung Square
OVERNIGHT: Yanggakdo Hotel, Pyongyang

 

 

Thurs 16th Aug

 

AM: 10:10 Train departs from Pyongyang for China
PM: Cross border at Sinuiju/Dandong, those visiting Dandong alight here, train continues to Beijing
OVERNIGHT: On Train

 

 

Fri 17th Aug

 

AM: 08:34 Arrival at Beijing Central Railway Station. End of Tour

PRE-TOUR MEETING: August 10th (Friday), 4PM, at our office in Beijing

TOUR FEE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:

1. Flight Beijing-Pyongyang, train Pyongyang-Beijing
2. All meals on the tour except on the train out of DPRK – see below
3. Hotel accommodation
4. All entry fees
5. Two guides and a driver per group
6. All transportation in DPRK
   
   

NOT INCLUDED IN THE TOUR FEE:

1. Optional single room supplement of EUR 40 per night
2. Spending money for drinks and souvenirs
3. DPRK visa fee EUR 50
4. EUR 50 surcharge for the train to Beijing or EUR 50 surcharge for the plane to Beijing (or Air China surcharge EUR 120)
5. Tip for the guides (approx EUR 20-25 total)
6. Meals on the train out of DPRK - (bring your own food or eat dinner and lunch in the buffet car approximately EUR 5 per person)
7. Entry tickets for Mass Games and special events if applicable – for example Revolutionary Opera if being staged, or a visit to the funfair
8. The lift up the Juche Tower EUR 5
9. Meals will have a complimentary beer but you will have to pay for extra drinks above those provided. If you are vegetarian or have special dietary requirements then please inform us beforehand
