DPRK FOREIGN LANGUAGE PUBLICATIONS
The DPRK has produced an enormous amount of literature, much of it translated
into English, Spanish, French, Russian, and many other languages, it is even possible to find books in Pyongyang translated into Ethiopian! We recently met a gentleman from Zimbabwe who learnt English by reading DPRK literature that was available for free at his school. Subjects covered by books and periodicals published in North Korea are far-ranging; from books penned by and about the Leaders to technical tomes on irrigation and agriculture, comic books to coffee table pictorials, from the finer nuances of the Juche philosophy to catalogues for stamp and coin collectors.

Of course the best way to obtain North Korean books is to simply join a tour with a reliable company (may I recommend Koryo Tours?) and to browse the bookshops of Pyongyang and beyond. Additionally if you are passing through Beijing then the Pyongyang Art Studio attached to our office offers a range of publications direct from Pyongyang. Online, the most comprehensive collection can be found at www.north-korea-books.com where books, newspaper subscriptions, music CDs, DVDs of DPRK movies and parades, and much more can be found just a few clicks away
WESTERN BOOKS ON DPRK
There has been an explosion in recent years of books dealing with various issues regarding North Korea, some good, some bad, (some terrible!). If you would like a brief list then please drop us an email at info@koryogroup.com or alternatively have a look at the reader reviews at online book dealers such as Amazon.
